Kids of the Kingdom
Kids of the Kingdom Youth Group is for 4th-6th graders. This group meets at least once per month for regular meetings, typically on Sunday nights from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, but they also go off site for special events such as trick or treating for canned goods, doing a low-ropes course, bowling, tubing, or service projects.
There is a fairly standard format for group meetings. Every night there is a biblically based theme such as stewardship, giving ourselves to Jesus, or the church as a family. When the kids arrive, they are immediately involved in a game or activity. Time is always taken to introduce ourselves and answer an opening question designed to get kids thinking about the theme for the night. The youth play a few games and often do a craft activity that relates to the theme. At some point, there is a short devotion or Bible study. The youth share their experiences or insights that relate to the topic. They are bright, engaged, and have alot to say. After a snack, the meeting ends with a closing prayer.
